Created for a recent widow, this midcentury condominium honors a lifetime of memories while embracing a vibrant new chapter. Together, we transformed a once-neutral interior into a home filled with color, pattern, and personality through hand-painted Fireclay tile, designer wallcoverings, custom cabinetry, vintage Italian and Belgian lighting, and the client's beloved Lane furnishings. Artwork and objects collected throughout years of travel and the many places she and her late husband had lived remained at the heart of the design, preserving the home's sense of history. As the project neared completion, she discovered a newfound love of bold color and asked whether a painting by Theodore Michalopoulos—an artist she and her late husband had long admired during their years in New Orleans—might belong. It proved to be the perfect final addition, marking both a lasting connection to the past and a confident step into what came next.
